The JPS Labs Kaptovator Power AC Cable

The Kaptovator represents JPS Labs' advanced technology in high-end audio power AC cables. No other cord in the World utilizes our combined elements and years of experience in making the finest in long-term reference cables. The Kaptovator's design starts with a special alloy blend, ultra-fine purity 8 gauge/8.35 mm2 conductor, easily the largest conductor of any high-end cord. This is no ordinary run-of-the-mill conductor, and its audio response optimized, concentric lay coupled with a very tightly twisted design makes for a very compact and flexible wire that acts as a solid wire, reducing strand interaction and greatly improving low frequency definition and allowing a very clean sound, yet never sterile nor bright.

Where the Kaptovator sets itself apart is with its unique insulation material, which can greatly determine how well a cord will perform and its final sonic character. Using air as a reference (which technically speaking is what all insulators are measured against), we set out to find the optimum dielectric to safely insulate our unique cord. JPS Labs found Kapton® to be an amazingly great insulator for our finest AC cords; also a very expensive one. Kapton is a very high-tech dielectric used mainly in space and military applications, and because of its effectiveness its thickness can be many times less than a typical cord, eliminating all that sound absorbing mass of insulation a normal AC cord must have to be safely rated for worldwide operation. Also, the Kaptovator is not surrounded by a large hollow tube filled with air or a mass of filler material, to pretend to be larger or heavier than it really is, meaning the Kaptovator is the smallest, largest AC cord available.

The Kaptovator's outer jacket is crystal clear for all to see how neat and orderly the inside of a well designed cord can be; and what you are paying for. Many cord designs would never think of allowing this. As with all of our unique cable designs, simplicity proves to be best, and of course what looks simple is not always as simple as it looks. This special clear outer jacket's elasticity was adjusted to also act as a very effective dampening material to address any mechanical vibration traveling along the cords length which may affect the cords true sonic character (or lack of it), and special surface coatings dissipate any static build-up. Many more 'hidden' and costly features have been included in this unique AC cord's design, including Wattgate gold audiophile grade plug (or gold plated Euro or UK), and so many little details learned over the years most designs would overlook, but of course we must keep some things a secret...

The Kaptovator is better at supplying power to the lowest power component on up to the largest of amplifiers than any other cord made except for our own Aluminata AC, making it a highly universal mate for just about anything audio. Its OFM (Optimized Field Matrix) design, a trademark of JPS Labs, allows for such delicate sound reproduction that this cord may be used very effectively on any piece in your system, including tube and digital components.

I first used the Power AC cable on the amp for two weeks (I had previously used it on my CAP-150 integrated amp), and found it superior to the AC cable the dealer provided.
